2017-2018 heating season
During the 2017-2018 heating season, biomass through the BALTPOOL Biomass Exchange was supplied under 4067 contracts. The number of contracts concluded during this heating season was 27% higher than during the previous heating season (3198 contracts). The total value of biomass supplied during the 2017-2018 heating season increased by 19%: from EUR 45.2 million to EUR 53.6 million compared to the previous heating season. The contracts were executed by 61 buyers and 102 sellers from Lithuania and Latvia.
The total amount of biomass sold during the heating season was 296.4 thousand toe, of them, 96,5% was purchased by centralised heat supply enterprises and regulated independent heat supply enterprises. Compared to the 2016-2017 heating season (306.1 thousand toe), the amount of biomass supplied during this heating season was 3.2% less (296.4 thousand toe). The major part of biomass was purchased by Vilnius (58.0 thousand toe), Kaunas (51.0 thousand toe), Šiauliai (38.2 thousand toe) and Klaipėda (37.4 thousand toe) counties.
