Biomass and heat trade statistics May of 2022
- The value of the BWCS (Baltpool Wood Chips SPOT) LT index reached 24.48 Eur / MWh. Compared to the value of April, the index has grown by 14%, and compared to the results of the same period last year, the value of the index is 148% higher.
- Compared to April, the total amount of biomass delivered decreased by 51% to 276,705 MWh (98.9% was delivered on short-term contracts). The volume of biomass delivered decreased by 1% compared to the same period last year.
- The average price of short-term transactions concluded in Estonia was 25.00 Eur / MWh.
- The average price of short-term transactions concluded in Latvia was 30.22 EUR / MWh.

HEAT AUCTION STATISTICS
- An auction was held in May 2022 for the purchase of heat in June 2022.
- The weighted average purchase price of heat was 2.83 ct / kWh and was 1% higher than the heat supplied in May (2.81 ct / kWh). Compared to the results of the same period last year, the price is 119% higher (1.29 ct / kWh).
- The amount of heat purchased in June amounted to 171,241 MWh, which is 19% less than the amount of heat purchased in May, and the amount of heat purchased increased by 3% compared to the results of the same period last year.
