Biomass exchange and heat trade statistics – June of 2021
- The value of BWCS (Baltpool Wood Chips SPOT) LT index reached 12.10 EUR/MWh. A 22.7 % index growth was recorded in comparison to the value in May, while a comparison of the performance during the same period last year shows that the index value is higher by 46.7 %.
- The total amount of biomass delivered decreased by 26.9 % up to 200 413 MWh in comparison to May (90.7 % were delivered under short-term contracts). A comparison of a respective period last year shows a decrease in the amount of biomass delivered by 25.8 %.
- In preparation for the upcoming heating season, participants have already concluded contracts for the supply of 195 370 MWh biomass in total for the next heating season for an average price of 13.33 EUR/MWh. This amount equals to 5.1 % in comparison to biomass purchased via the BALTPOOL exchange during the heating season of 2020-2021.
- The price of the concluded contracts is 23.6 % higher than the average biomass supply price of the previous heating season.
