EPSO-G announces the selection of the members of the board of BALTPOOL
The energy transmission and exchange company group EPSO-G has announced the selection of the members of the Board of the group company Baltpool. Candidates are invited to submit their applications by 4 February this year.
“The core business of the group company Baltpool is an international exchange where biomass products are traded. In Lithuania, the company also organises timber and heat auctions, and administers Public Service Obligation (PSO) funds. In order to further strengthen Baltpool’s position consistently, especially in international markets, we aim to attract to the Board the best competences”, says Mindaugas Keizeris, CEO of EPSO-G.
According to Mr Keizeris, Baltpool, as well as the entire EPSO-G Group, will make a significant contribution to the implementation of Lithuania’s 2050 energy vision, which was presented at the end of last year.
The Board of Baltpool consists of five members, elected for a four-year term. The term of office of the current Board will end in April 2024.
To ensure good governance practices and proper shareholder representation, the Board of Baltpool will be composed of two independent board members, two board members nominated by the parent company EPSO-G and one board member nominated by the minority shareholder KN Energies.
The new Board of Baltpool will include independent board members responsible for service development and international expansion, while shareholder-nominated members will be responsible for strategic planning and management, financial management and new business development.
The selection of independent board members is carried out through the executive recruitment agency Master Class Lietuva.
The EPSO-G group of companies consists of the holding company EPSO-G and its five direct subsidiaries Amber Grid, Baltpool, Energy cells, Litgrid and Tetas. EPSO-G and its Group companies also hold shares in GET Baltic, Baltic RCC OÜ and TSO Holding AS. The rights and obligations of the sole shareholder of EPSO-G holding are implemented by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania.
