Biomass and heat trade statistics September of 2021
- The value of the BWCS (Baltpool Wood Chips SPOT) LT index has reached 19.63 EUR/MWh. Compared to its
value in August, the index has increased by 30%, and compared to the results of the same period last year, the
value of the index has increased by 125%. - Compared to the results of August, the total amount of delivered biomass has increased by 81% to 375,270
MWh (89.7% of the amount was delivered under short-term contracts). Compared to the same period last year,
the amount of delivered biomass has increased by 51%. - In preparation for the upcoming heating season, participants of the exchange have already concluded contracts
for the supply of 1,087,590 MWh of biomass for the next heating season at an average price of 17.56
EUR/MWh. 2 times more long-term contracts were concluded during the same period last year. - The price of concluded contracts is higher by 66% than the average biomass supply price of the previous
heating season.
