June 2018 Review of Timber Trading
In June 2018, the regional divisions of the State Forestry Enterprise sold twice less of wood at 66 short-term auctions than during the last month. The trade volumes shrank to 23.0 thousand m3 of wood, and the financial value of contracts dropped from EUR 2,085.9 thousand to EUR 1,176.3 thousand.
Half of timber sold was sawlogs, its sales volume amounted to 11.3 thousand m3. Within this category, sales by wood species distributed as follows: pine logs – 47%, spruce logs – 31%, and birch logs – 12%.
Sales of firewood, packing logs, wood panels and pulpwood each amounted to 10-13 percent of the total volume of timber sold. Sales of timber harvesting residues amounted to 5% of the total turnover.
